We stayed in Monte Carmelo for three days during a trip to Spain. The hotel is in a quiet residential area about 10-15 minutes walk from the major tourist sites. In May, this was alright – I think during the heart of summer the walk might be a little long and hot (it was hot enough in May that we went back to the hotel for a couple of hours each day in early afternoon – July/August must get really hot). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was alright, although the furnishings were somewhat dated. However, the size was very good, the bathrooms were nice, and the bed was comfortable. We may not have stumbled upon them, but as far as we could tell there weren’t too many restaurants in the area. While there wasn’t anything luxurious about this hotel, it was definitely an acceptable choice.
